If you're anything like me, when I started blogging I found myself to be extremely confused by the whole thing! Hopefully I can save you a lot of time, effort and frustration by using these guidelines. I spent many months trawling the Internet in an attempt to find out the best way to make my blog successful. I also spent hours at my computer making many mistakes in an attempt to make my blog earn cash.
If you would like a look at my first blog here's the link: Cougarsamurai. I don't by any means claim that this blog is perfect, but that was never my aim. I have learnt that the most important thing about blogging is that you be passionate about your subject. Chances are, if you feel strongly about something you will put in the necessary time and effort required to make it work. This is possibly the single most important piece of advice I can give you. A blog is an ongoing process and one you want to enjoy.
The second most important piece of advice is that you must provide quality content. No one wants to read dribble and certainly no one will come back to visit your site if it is full of nonsense. You have to make your blog interesting and relevant to the reader. More often than not quality is more important than quantity. You will read this being said time and time again by blog advisers.
There is little point having a great blog if no one reads it! I found a great way to drive traffic to my site was by making YouTube videos. There are various ways to generate the all important 'traffic' to your blog; many or which can be found here: Traffic
Unfortunately nowadays we have have to be careful about what we say. You might want to consider having a legal disclaimer to your blog. I found one on the Internet that has very kindly been made available for free. You may want to use this or a similar one: Legal/disclaimer
Now down to business. In order to make a financial gain you need to 'monetise' your blog. This simply refers to anything that results in your blogging generating you an income. You could for example use Google AdSense as a way to generate cash. If, for example, you were to click on one of the 'sponsored links' on this page, I would receive a small payment. Similarly, if you were to purchase something by clicking on the Amazon links, I would receive a commission. You can also earn money as an Affiliate Marketer through sites such as Site Build it.
Click on the various page links at the top of this page for other possible ways to monetise your blog.
I wish you all the best with your blogging efforts and hope the information provided in this site has been of some help. If you have any suggestion that would help improve this site or its content please email: Cougarsamurai
